So...I just completed my first full marathon, and it wasn't too bad! Let me tell you a bit about it!
On Thursday at around noon time, I flew out to Seattle...
A light rail from the airport to downtown Seattle every ten minutes?! I wish Bay Area public transportation was this expedient!

ALL TO MYSELF! YEAH BUDDY!

Disappointment.
Ready to roll!
And then I went to explore parts of Seattle! You see, I was on a mission to get my father-in-law, Keith, the most comfortable AND stylish sneakers for Father's Day. He's been known to wear ubiquitous "dad" shoes, such as the Nike Air Monarch, so I figured it was due time to step into to something more steezy without sacrificing comfort! My first stop, was BAIT, a well-known sneaker/streetwear shop.

Straight fire!!!

Stylish retro runners!

They even have toys!
Unfortunately, BAIT didn't have much in a men's 11.5 so I moved onto the next shop, which was Likelihood. This shop had a boutique-y vibe to it, and though I wasn't feeling this particular kind of ambiance, I still have to give respect to those who are trying to push sneakers into high-end fashion!
I couldn't find anything at Likelihood, so I ended up at the Nike Store, which is right across the street from the Sheraton! There, after about an hour or so perusing, I found the perfect pair! My father-in-law can now toss these...

From the Air Monarchs...

...To the Air Max 1s!
Iridescent!
Keith's on the far right; his GF, Alison, is right next to him! They were top fundraisers for this race season!
In fact, four out of the top five fundraisers were from the Silicon Valley team! Booyah!
We got to the Space Needle (the starting point of the race), via the monorail!
Once we arrived, we dropped off bags, and headed to the starting line and mentally prepared ourselves for the endeavor were about to embark on!!!
And then we were off! There were some very serene and scenic parts of the race (like Seward Park) that really motivated you to run at your best! (Btw, the following pics are NOT from the race; I just wanted you to see the views that Seward Park had to offer. Nice, right?)

This was from the race though! Folks were honoring those who have died for our country, as well as those who passed away in Orlando.
But there were parts of the race that really tested your mental toughness. Like running on part of the freeway, or running through freeway tunnels.
It felt really good when I saw the ballpark in sight (the end endpoint of the race)!
I made it across the finish line and it felt good!

I was too cheap to purchase this pic! But hey, You can still see me in all my glory!

I was 40 about 40 minutes over my expected time! Ah well, more motivation to do another marathon!
Yeah, buddy!
Though I was sore on Sunday, I wanted to still check out Pike's Place before I flew back to San Jose, so I ignored the pain, and made it happen!

We ate Lowell's! Nothing like Corned Beef Hash the day after a race!
I got home just in time to see the Game 7 of the NBA Finals! And yet again, LeBron & Co. made me feel like this at the end:
Ah well. Good for LeBron for ending a long-standing championship drought in Cleveland! And as for Steph and his crew? There's always next season👍

Maybe they could pick up this guy during free agency. Check out this video, that made me change my perception of this player.

Or maybe this guy right here...
So that was my race weekend folks! What did you do over the weekend?
