We started the day out getting down with a little reading; we read an article about the topic of student lunches around different parts of the world; after the first read, we close-read each paragraph in our table groups, and utilize the 3-keyword strategy to summarize each paragraph in our own words!
- Read the paragraph/article for a good understanding.
- Close-read the paragraph to choose three key words that will help you explain and summarize the info, in your own words.
- Put the article away and utilize the three key words to write down, in your own words, the information that you've just read!
For Writer's Workshop, we brainstormed some more rebuttals against a claim; tomorrow we are going begin typing a persuasive letter, utilizing all of the notes and evidence for our claim, as well as provide the rebuttal against an opposing claim! Booyah!
During math today, we went over patterns in eights multiplication fact, as we had a few hiccups the last time we went over this topic!
We also got a chance to discuss online safety, as we will be using the internet a lot more often in the classroom for research purposes!
