Here's a rundown of what we have been working on over the past couple of days:
Reading
We've been close-reading for the reason of practicing the 3-keyword strategy to paraphrase what we've been reading in our own words!
- Read the paragraph/article for a good understanding.
- Close-read the paragraph to choose three key words that will help you explain and summarize the info, in your own words.
- Put the article away and utilize the three key words to orally say out loud or in you head, the information you just read, in your own words.
- Write down the information you just said using those three key words!
As a class, we are working on our own E-8's Guidebook to Anything and Everything, to work on skills that we will need for the upcoming research project! We're practicing the 3-keyword strategy to write down info, in our own words, for this particular guidebook!
We've also been writing opinion/persuasive pieces making sure that we revise our writing using the Love O.R.E.O. strategy!
Math
We started our new math unit that deals with division! At the moment, we're working on understanding division and how it relates to multiplication, as well as understanding division as repeated subtraction!
Cheers, y'all!
