More Research Skills!

Happy Monday Folks!

We utilized the sketch and label strategy to paraphrase the info we are reading into our own words! This strategy helps us clarify, synthesize, and summarize non-fiction texts. We first read a text or article the whole way through to get a good understanding. Then we close read, this time in smaller manageable sections in order to sketch and label those sections! We orally summarized the text based on our sketches, and then we transfer what we orally summarized into writing! When we summarize in written form, we base it off of the sketches and our oral summaries, in order to prevent plagiarism! Booyah!

Afterwards, we got into collaborative groups and reviewed area model of fractions!

Afterwards we got onto our laptops and...
  • We created folders on Google Drive for our animal research
  • We took our notes on the subtopic of geckos tails, analyzed the notes, and then typed up our notes in paragraph form so that it is organized (makes sense) for us and our audience!
And that's a wrap-up folks! Cheers, and have a good one!
