We started the day out practicing the skill of turning & talking. We had some think time to explain an activity we did over the weekend, and then we utilized the turban & talk strategy to share out with a partner!
Afterwards, we jumped into reading and worked on brainstorming guiding questions that will help us steer our whole-class research project (on geckos) in the right direction!
During Writer's Workshop today, we continued to practice the 3-keyword strategy to record information in our own words!
- Read the paragraph/article for a good understanding.
- Close-read the paragraph to choose three key words that will help you explain and summarize the info, in your own words.
- Put the article away and utilize the three key words to orally say out loud, or in you head, the information you just read, in your own words.
- Write down the information you just said using those three key words!
During math today we continued to utilize the relationship between division and multiplication to solve for the quotient of division problems!
Throughout the day, we read part of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, and made inferences from signposts that we've noticed as we're reading!
Cheers, y'all!
