We started this grand day out with some birthday surprises!
Afterwards, we had reading block! We showed support when getting into active listening pairs, and utilized this collaborative structure to do some close reading in order to find answers to our text-dependent questions!
We continued to practice our collaborative structures and our close reading skills by looking for words throughout The Ballad of Mulan with the short /a/ sound!
During Writer's Workshop, we continued to work on our writing stamina during silent writing time, penning more of those awesome small moments!
During math today we again worked on collaborative structures yet again, but this time outside on the playground! In groups, each of us had a role, and we executed our role flawlessly, making sure we supported those in our group when solving for the perimeter of plane shapes on the playground!
We had a library session today, and checked out books for the first time this school year, using the IPICK method!
And then we worked on our reading stamina during Read-To-Self!
We had our first Pokemon Friday today too!
And we shared a couple of Me Bags today!
And listened to parts of The Witches during read-alouds throughout the day! We also saw a clip at the end of the day!
