We started the day out with a "What would you do?" I told the students a small moment wherein I witnessed a mom very loudly, and embarrassingly, chastising her young son becasue he accidentally wet his pants. I asked the students, "What would you have done int his situation if you saw a parent screaming at and embargoing his/her child?" Here are some of their opinions:
I then previewed the double, double again strategy to solve for multiplication problems:
During reading block today we read an article on the topic of playtime, recess, and free play. After reading the first time, we determined the author's viewpoint of the topic based on what we read. We then proceeded to do a close read to annotate and record evidence that supports the author's viewpoint! Booyah!
During math today, students examined the properties that define rhombuses or rhombi!
Near the end of the day we ran two laps and then had free PE (to promote creativity, imagination, and healthy body!)
