In the morning we had a class meeting, wherein we discussed and reviewed the following classroom procedures and routines:
- Active listening
- turn and talk
- raising your hand with the appropriate signal
During writers workshop today we focused on a practice session for the written performance assessment that will be happening in this Friday! All E8 teammates today, wrote an informational writing piece on the topic of......school! We brainstormed some subtopics, discussed what is needed inside the informational piece such as a lead, a conclusion, various text features, etc., and we also talked about managing the 45–minute time-frame in which we must complete this piece! After all of that, we got to it, and put in our best effort!
For math today we read and wrote times to the nearest minute on an analog clock, making sure that we attended to precision when placing the hour and minute hand on those analog clocks! We also related the time shown on an analog clock to the time shown on a digital clock and vice-versa!
For reading we continue to listen to Charlie and the chocolate factory being read aloud, and analyzed the text to see if there were any a-ha moments in which a character realizes, understands, or finally figure something out! If we found any a-ha moments we then stopped and asked ourselves, " how might this change things in the story?"
Near the end of the day, we played a math game in which we rolled dice in order write down times to the nearest minute on an analog clock and a digital clock!
And that is a wrap up for this rainy Wednesday! Cheers and have a good one!
