During reading block today, we really focused on how to make a connection with what we're reading using our schema! We watched a demo video, discussed how connections are made, and then after listening to a bit of Matilda being read aloud, we wrote down our connections. We still need to work on the explanation portion of our connections, but today was a good start into making those connections!
During math today we prepped ourselves for the upcoming unit on patterns, rounding, and addition strategies by discussing various mathematical terms we'll be seeing the next 15 or so days! We must learn these terms if we are to explain our processes like a mathematician!
It was just so flippin' hot this afternoon we decided to have indoor recess!
And near the end of the day, we had some library time!
