We started the day out with with Writer's Workshop! We discussed the hard parts of writing and what we can do when we run out of gas when writing!
We then worked on our writing Stamina, and afterwards shared out our true stories! Just wanted to let you all know: These true stories? They're soooooo awesome!
During Reading Block, we've been doing a bunch of close reading as well as expressing our thinking while reading! Yesterday, we practiced writing a favorite part of a text we read and explained why we liked that part!
Today we practiced the Post-it, sketch, and label strategy to summarize a clip we saw about a Star Wars product!
During Math block yesterday and today, we took notes in our math notebook!
We then got into partner groups, making sure we support our partner as we work with him/her, and utilized what we discussed while note-taking to solve problems dealing with perimeter!
We then transitioned into Pokemon Friday!
And that's pretty much the summary of what happened today! Oh, we finished Roald Dahl's The Witches as a read-aloud today, and began Matilda! Ask your child about the titular character and her mean ol' dad Mr. Wormwood! Cheers, and have a lovely three-day weekend! I plan on running a half-marathon, reading up on teaching strategies, and just hanging out these next few day! Treat yo' self!
