It's Almost Friday!!!

Howdy Folks!

We started the day out discussing the three levels of neatly-written work!

Level 1- JUST YOU; you are the only one looking at your writing, so as long you can read your own writing, Level 1 quality is okay (like notes for studying).

Level 2- YOU AND SOMEONE ELSE; one or two other people will be looking at your work, so it needs to be neat enough so that they can read it (like homework or a collaborative assignment).

Level 3- YOU AND SEVERAL PEOPLE; several people will be looking at your work, so it needs to be neatly written in a professional, legible manner (like a project, or a presentation, or published piece of writing for an audience).

We also read from Growing Up with a Bucket Full of Happiness, and afterwards with our table group, we collaborated on ideas that will fill our and other people's buckets!

During reading today, we utilized close reading, and annotating to determine the main idea and supporting details of a text! If we had time, we also sketched and label what we wrote in order to show our thinking!

We had an awesome session on Achieve 3000 today! In groups or with a partner, we close-read a non-fiction article and then referred back to the article to answer some test-dependent questions!

During math today, we utilized the six steps to solving word problems, and tackled a bunch of word problems in groups or with a partner! You might have noticed some students using the ( ) symbols in their equation; we discussed that the ( ) symbols lets you know which numbers and operation you need to solve first!

We then had a quick round of skip counting!

And then we had a quick assessment on rounding right before lunch!

Round 165 to the tens and hundreds

And that's the condensed version of the day! Cheers y'all!
