We started the day out with a good ol' math block session! At the beginning of the lesson, we went recursive, and went over how to complete this number sentence:
7/8 is greater than ?
We made sure we labeled all of our parts of the whole and provided a visual representation of the fraction in the number!
We then practiced placing fractions on a number line with endpoints 0 and 1!
If we finished early, we chose an activity off of the Math Activities for Fast Finishers list to work on!
During Writer's Workshop today, we supported a couple of our teammates by working silently on our fairy tale or small moment, so that they may complete their Written Performance Assessment!
Near the end of the day we worked on a response to reading activity so that we're prepped and ready to do the same activity for tonight's reading homework! We used Roald Dahl's The BFG for this activity, and described a character in the book using adjectives. With each adjective we used, we also provided an explanation in order to show our thinking while reading!
