We started the day out practicing the sketching and labeling strategy in order to orally retell (in our own words) the beginning, middle, and end of a fairy tale, and then retell it in written form!
During Writer's Workshop, we discussed how to revise while in the middle of writing out our stories rather than wait until the end to revise! For every 3-4 sentences that we wrote, we would stop, reread what we wrote, and then analyze to see if we could add more descriptive synonyms, and/or add more details that show, not tell!
Near the end of the day we had PE and played a game called Castle!
